HOSA State Qualifiers
Congratulations to Mercy Ice Hockey player and speed skater Marta Meehan '25 who is the Michigan Speedskating State Champion and will compete in Nationals next month!
The Mercyaires performed beautifully at the District Solo and Ensemble Festival. They received an overall rating of Excellent, also called a ONE along with a certificate and blue medals for their achievement! They performed an African-American Spiritual "Ain-a That Good News" and "Ave Maria," both a cappella pieces with a high level of difficulty. Their judge shared effusive praise for their tone, poise, musicianship and expression. Bravo!
AP Government Field Trip Eastern District of Michigan
On February 2, 2023, Ms. Richter's AP Government Class was graciously welcomed into the courtroom of Judge Stephen Murphy III, U.S. District Court judge for the Eastern District of Michigan. The students witnessed several criminal proceedings that helped to illustrate the topics being learned in their class.
English 9 Guest Speaker
Thank you to Julie Ohana, granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, who spoke to English 9 Classes at Mercy on February 1. Students finished reading the book Night, so they got to connect and hear another story from living memory and had time to ask their own questions. This was especially important and impactful since 1/27/23 was International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
SERVICE PROJECTS HOSTED BY THE MOTHERS' CLUB SERVICE & CARE COMMITTEE
