No. 1 Farmington Hills Mercy repeats as Division 2 champion
No. 1-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy won its second-straight Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 girls golf championship on Saturday, October 21, at Forest Akers East at Michigan State University in East Lansing.
Mercy finished with a two-day total of 636. No. 2-ranked Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood was second with 653. No. 4-ranked Mason was third at 657.
Junior Maeve Casey shot 73 on Friday to lead Mercy, but Casey was unable to play on Saturday as she was traveling to a travel hockey tournament in Minnesota.
Abby Slankster finished at 80/70/150 to earn fifth place individually for Mercy. Senior Lila Polakowski shot 79/79/158. Junior Macy Morphew finished at 85/81/166. Senior Brinlee Nay totaled 89/89/178 in the victory.
It was Mercy's fourth girls golf championship.
