The Mercy Ski Team competed in Giant Slalom for their third race of the year. Mercy Took second with 35 points. Placing behind a very strong Brighton team (20 points). Mercy was led by Senior Mikaela Williams with a third place finish. Williams was supported by Hatcher (9), Lampi (10), and Koehler (13). The team worked hard to overcome difficult conditions brought on by the warm weather and put forth their best effort. Mercy will next compete on Tuesday, 1/24 in their favorite discipline, Slalom.
The Mercy Ski Team competed in the Mt. Brighton High School Ski Association Championships. The championship pitted Mercy against tough competition from every team they competed against throughout the regular season. Mercy placed third with 107 points, behind Brighton (66) and Bimingham (87). In Slalom, Mercy was led by Junior Mikaela Williams, who finished fourth overall. Mikaela was supported by Hatcher (6), Koehler (21), and Crane (28). In GS, Mercy was led by Senior Sadie MillerWright, who took 2nd overall. Sadie was accompanied by Wiliams (7), Hatcher (11), and Koehler (28).
The Mercy Ski Team defeated the Charyl Stockwell Prep Ski Team in Giant Slalom. Senior Sadie MillerWright led the team with a first place finish. Sadie was supported by Williams (3), Hatcher (4) and Langley (5). The team improved to 6-1 on the season, and is neck and neck with the Brighton Ski Team for the best record in the league. The final race of the regular season is next Tuesday, 2/1 in Slalom.
Mercy swept the Farmington Ski Team and continued their winning streak, improving to 5-1, on Tuesday's Slalom Race. The team was led by Junior Mikaela Williams, who placed first. Mikaela (also known as Miki) was supported by MillerWright (2), Hatcher (3), and Langley (4). Close behind were Swords (5) and Koehler (9). This result bodes well for the upcoming post-season. Mercy competes in the Divisional Championship on 2/10, and Regionals on 2/17.
The Mercy Ski Team took down Northville last night by a score of 13-25. Mercy has won the last 4 races since falling to Brighton in the opening race, moving to 4-1 overall. Senior Sadie MillerWright led the team with a first place finish. She was supported by Williams (2), Hatcher (3), and Langley (7). The team looks to continue the upward trend with a strong training camp this weekend at Shanty Creek.
