Senior first baseman Abby Krzywiecki set a state record for single-season home runs and led Farmington Hills Mercy to a district softball championship Saturday.
Krzywiecki hit a two-run shot in the seventh inning of the final game, capping a 7-0 victory over North Farmington in the Division 1 tournament at Livonia Stevenson.

It was either teams’ game to win at halftime Wednesday with Farmington Hills Mercy holding an 8-7 lead in a Division 2 girls regional lacrosse semifinal.
That changed at the start of the second half as the Marlins scored six unanswered goals in the first eight minutes and sank any hope Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard had of winning.

Abby Krzywiecki’s fifth-inning, three-run home run against South Lyon East on Thursday put the Farmington Hills Mercy Marlins at the mercy-rule margin to finish the game.
Coupled with an earlier solo shot, it also put Krzywiecki just one shy of the state’s single-season home run record.

Farmington Hills Mercy won its playoff opener in girls lacrosse Thursday with a 16-8 victory over Ann Arbor Skyline in a Division 2 regional game.
Senior Lilly Blake led the host Marlins, who were state semifinalists last year, with five goals and three assists, and senior Caitlin Somerville contributed three goals.

Sophomore Mia Flynn was Farmington Hills Mercy’s top athlete in the Catholic League A-B Division girls track and field championship meet Tuesday at Catholic Central High School.
Flynn won two events, running 16.16 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and jumping 16 feet, 2 inches in the long jump.

It was the Andrea and Anna Show in the Catholic League championship softball game Monday evening at the University of Detroit Mercy.
The combination of senior pitcher Andrea Elmore and sophomore catcher Anna Dixon powered Mercy High School to a 10-0 win over Pontiac Notre Dame Prep.
