Coach Tom Gable was presented with the Bill Miilu Lifetime Achievement Award at the Michigan High School Ski Coaches Association (MHSSCA) rules meeting in Lansing, October 20th, 2019. 

This award is presented annually to a Ski Coach who has done outstanding work in the MHSSCA community.

Farmington Hills Mercy volleyball coach Loretta Vogel admits she doesn’t keep track of the championships her team wins.

Nevertheless, the Marlins added another Catholic High School League tournament title to their trophy case with a 3-0 win over Bloomfield Hills Marian Oct. 29 in the CHSL Bishop tournament final at Madison Heights Bishop Foley.

FARMINGTON HILLS — With the amount of talent the Farmington Hills Mercy volleyball team has, it can be easy to look ahead and focus on other things.

But that’s exactly what the Marlins are trying to avoid, as they’ve tried to stay focused on one game at a time. That philosophy had the Marlins sitting at 33-1 overall at press time, with their only loss coming back on Sept. 14 to Lowell High.

FARMINGTON HILLS — When Diane Dietz got the call letting her know that she was being inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, she thought it could be a prank.

A former colleague of hers, Matt Friedman, who is now a director for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, was the one to give her the call, but he was not joking around.
