2023 Quiz Bowl National Championship Tournament

Mercy Quiz Bowl headed to Atlanta for the annual NAQT High School National Championship Tournament over Memorial Day weekend. Only the top 15% of teams are invited to this tournament, and Mercy was one of only 10 Michigan schools that qualified a team. This was the fourth consecutive year Mercy received an invitation to NAQT, which was a field made up of 304 teams and 1500 players.

Kelsey VanDenBerg '24 also qualified for the tournament, but was unable to attend. Mercy finished 2-8, and you can view official tournament statistics here. On Saturday evening, Mercy met up with the players of St. Pius X High School (Kansas City, MO) for Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The two teams have played each other in online tournaments for the past 3 years, and were finally able to meet in person.
