 FHS - The French Honor Society of Mercy High School welcomed 16 new members at the Annual Induction ceremony and Awards reception held in the Media Center April 25. Mrs. Penny Denomme helped Mme Joyce Campbell and Mme Cheryl Corte prepare for the French reception following the ceremony. The induction ceremony was highlighted by a beautiful candle lighting ceremony, in which the current members welcomed the new members by sharing the flame and reciting the pledge of induction. During the induction, La Marseillaise was also played as the French flag "Le Tricolore"was raised by the members.
The following 2nd and 3rd year French students were proudly inducted after a year of candidacy and participation. We congratulate these new members and wish them success in their continued studies of the French language and culture. Alex Acosta

Northeast Conference Certificate of Excellence in French Award: Anastasia Warner
Michigan World Language Association Outstanding Student in French Award: Christina Romano
Alliance Française Certificate of Merit in French Award: Hannah Blakey, Abigail Bush and
Maia Conlon

The 2018 Mercy French Honor Society Member of the Year was awarded to Mackenzie Farrow.
The 2018 Mercy French Honor Society New Member of the Year was awarded to Alexandra Acosta.
Madame Sattler attended the ceremony where she congratulated the new members and spoke to the members and their parents in French (she is proficient in French) communicating her love of languages and how important they are in the world today!
