Marlins capture regional crown
D2. No.3 Farmington Hills Mercy wins championship, advances to final

No. 3-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy won the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2, Region 11 girls tennis championship on Thursday, May 16 at Dexter.
Mercy dominated the competition, winning with 28 points. Dexter was second with 19 points. South Lyan was third with 18 points. All three teams advance to the MHSAA finals.
Megan Sullivan (No.1), Keira Kirkland (No. 2), Alexa Dueweke (No. 3) and Gabby Owens (No. 4) earned singles championships in straight sets for Mercy.
The Mercy teams of Sophia Bishop and Diana Quinn (No. 1), Mallory Cooney and Julia Holt (No. 2), and Rafi Sherman and Victoria Hunter (No. 3) won doubles titles.
The Division 2 finals will be held at the Byron Center West Sports Complex, Grand Rapids South Christian and Grandville.
