CLASS OF 2025 SENIOR PERSONALIZED PARKING SPOT
Dear Class of 2025,
We hope that your summers have been amazing so far. Please read this entire email as there is a lot of important information to share.
This year, we would like to continue the personalized parking spots for our first fundraiser next school year. This fundraiser allows you to express your creativity and gives you your own personalized space for parking. (We all know the feeling of trying to find a parking spot 5 minutes before the bell rings.) With your own parking spot (that only you can park in), you'll never have to deal with that again!
The money raised from the parking spots will go towards prom and other senior class activities throughout the year, with the majority of the money allowing us to have more space at the Roostertail.
You will be able to choose a parking spot and paint a design onto your chosen parking spot! You have seen the ideas the past few years and now it’s your turn.
Linked below are the spots we are offering you. We have sections by both the Flagpole and the Auditorium/Gym entrances. Also linked is a design format. We would like you to draw the design that you would like to paint on your spot. As usual, no profanity or inappropriate images or drawings. (It's on school property, it must be school appropriate.) Also, be mindful of copyright.
The spot you receive is designated on a first come first serve by email submission basis. We will do our best to make sure everyone has their preferred spot! On the bottom of the form, there is a space to fill out your first, second, and third spot choice.
Cost: $80
This cost covers the parking spot, paint rollers for the base coat and professional covering of the spot at the end of the school year. You will NOT have to paint over your spot in May. Please have a check made out to Mercy High School or cash ready for the first day of painting. Alternatively, you can pay online mhsmi.org/senior-parking-spot-
Paint: All paint is provided by YOU. It usually takes 1 gallon of paint for the base coat and it MUST be exterior latex paint. You will need to show the moderators your paint before you begin. *If black is your base coat, you can skip that step! We will have rollers available.
Painting Days: Base coat and the beginning of your designs on Saturday, August 10 from 1 pm - 3 pm. This process takes about 1 hour. Please plan accordingly and bring brooms, blowers, etc., to help clean off your spots. Payment is due to the moderators before you start painting. You may pay via cash, check (payable to Mercy High School), or online.
The designs will be allowed to be painted after school and on the weekends for a one-week period at your own convenience (August 10 - August 18). There will be a sign-up genius sent out prior to the painting day for you to sign-up for painting at your convenience. You may sign-up the day of or just before you paint; we simply want to know who is on campus for safety reasons.
Any changes to the designs after approval via email notification must be approved. If anything is painted that is NOT approved, you will be responsible for paying the cost to cover up your design without a refund of your cost for the fundraiser.
Extra info/items to bring:
- Gloves
- Make sure to wear clothes that you can get dirty!
- Paint brush(es) for more detailed designs
Please email us or our senior moderators, Mrs. Faunce and Mrs. Lavely if you have any questions.
Designs: Designs must be sent to seniormoderator@mhsmi.org by Thursday, August 8, 2024. We are so excited about this, and we hope for a lot of participation! Remember, this is for PROM.
You are welcome to design a design with the person in the spot next to you as a partner design, but there will be lines you cannot paint over and we cannot promise spots next to the friend you plan to do the design with, but we will try our hardest, if designs are submitted together to place you together. Have a backup plan!
Requirements:
-
The yellow parking lines must not be painted over leaving four inches on either side of the yellow lines so that the parking spot is well-defined. These guides will be marked off by us prior to the base painting day.
-
If there are paint spills, YOU will be responsible for cleaning them up.
-
Do not paint on any other surface, aside from your assigned parking space.

-
A paint hardener will need to be used before disposing of leftover paint in a Mercy waste container.
-
Take paint home and dispose.
-
-
Drop cloths, canvas or plastic tarps, and/or cardboard can be used to mix paint near the parking spot.
