2023-24 Course Registration

Course Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is fast approaching. In an effort to support students in making individualized course planning decisions, we utilize the following detailed process for Course Registration.

Students in grades 9-11 will first attend an Adviser Group Class Meeting where they will receive a presentation explaining Mercy’s Course Registration process and will be given an informational packet, detailing their Course Registration responsibilities. Class Meetings have been scheduled on February 21st for 9th graders, February 23rd for 11th graders, and on February 27th for 10th graders.

Next, students will be responsible for completing their preliminary course selection in Powerschool. Detailed instructions for this step can be found in the student Course Registration packet.

Finally, each student will be assigned an appointment day and time to meet individually with their Counselor. At this meeting, Counselors will review and discuss each student's preliminary course selection, review graduation requirements and progress, make adjustments to course choices as needed, and ensure that alternate course choices were selected where necessary. Final course choices will then be recorded on a Course Registration Form and sent home with each student for Parent/Guardian signature. Once the signed Course Registration Form is received, a student’s Course Registration is considered complete.
