Dear Mercy Family,
The Mercy High School faculty, staff and administration warmly welcome students to the second semester this Thursday, January 6. We hope the holiday break was restful, and we wish you every blessing of health and peace in the New Year.
As we prepare for our return amidst an increase in COVID-19 cases, we must continue to care for ourselves and one another. All are encouraged, once again, to be vaccinated with boosters if able. While in school, students, visitors and employees will be properly wearing appropriate facial masks over the mouth and nose, social distancing, staying home when ill, and testing if symptomatic. We ask that all students and their families remain diligent with these protocols as we work to keep each other healthy.
On Friday, December 31, the MDHHS stated it will be updating its quarantine guidance for the general public to reflect the new recommendations from the CDC. The local health departments stated the new 5-day quarantine guidance does not include schools or childcare centers. Mercy HS will continue to follow the quarantine guidelines that have been in place since December 3rd which specify a 10-day quarantine for any COVID-19 positive individual.
We look forward to the start of the second semester and the joy associated with new beginnings!
In Mercy,
Dr. Cheryl Kreger, President
Mrs. Patricia Sattler, Principal
