IMMEDIATE OPENING(S): TEACHER ASSISTANT

Mercy High School in Farmington Hills has an immediate need for multiple Teacher Assistant positions to support our return to a full in-person instruction model. Social distancing and best practice health and safety protocols are in place.

This is a four day a week position (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday) from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm with a pay of $15/hour from March through June 4th.

Applicants will work closely with assigned teachers to:

• Provide assistance with auxiliary classroom organization, routine duties and facilitation of classroom instruction.

• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.

• Participate in lunch monitoring and special scheduled event duties.

• Provide coverage for absent teachers as the schedule allows.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate teacher or administrator.

Preferred candidates are team oriented with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable problem solving and working with technology, and value working with students of diverse backgrounds including race, culture and socioeconomic status.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree or equivalent, 60 credit hours post-secondary coursework at an accredited college or university preferred.

• All qualified candidates must complete a Protecting God’s Children workshop and a criminal background check.
