Dear Mercy Family,
We thank you for choosing Mercy High School for your daughter and we are grateful to each of you for valuing the Catholic educational opportunities and programs that our school offers.
Each year the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees carefully analyze financials to establish a realistic budget and set tuition for the next school year. All areas of the school's operation have been scrutinized and rigorous efforts have been implemented to cut costs where needed, while investing in the Mercy campus, programs and faculty. A $450 increase of $2.37 per day, sets the 2021-2022 tuition at $14,550. The registration fee of $100, activity fee of $250 and graduation fee of $300 remain the same.
Our tuition supports a mission driven set of goals and is part of the 2019-2023 strategic plan to create a preferred future for our students. We remain committed to Mercy's 75-year tradition of educating young women in the Catholic faith and in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy.
We receive no funding from the state and must depend on benefactors to make a Mercy education possible at a time when the world needs our women with their strong values, leadership and faith. Fundraising efforts, over and above tuition revenue, allow us to update the building, improve programs and ensure the sustainability of the school. This year we replaced original windows in the South Hall; made several HVAC repairs; renovated the Lobby bathroom; installed touchless faucets and hand sanitizer stations; purchased PPE, electrostatic cleaners and other COVID-19 health and safety measures; upgraded furniture in six classrooms; increased WiFi and network connectivity and added SWIVL technology.
We ask parents to help Mercy by participating in fundraising, volunteering and being Mercy ambassadors. In turn, the staff and administration will continue to work diligently to keep costs down without compromising the excellence of a Mercy education.
Enrollment Agreements for current students will be available February 17. Please complete the enrollment forms along with your deposit by March 31, 2021 to ensure the best programs and elective offerings for your daughter. For those interested in financial aid, we have endowed scholarships and have increased the money available for tuition assistance. Visit mhsmi.org/admissions/financial-aid for information. Applications for financial aid are due April 30, 2021.
We realize that families sacrifice financially to send their daughters to Mercy and we are assured by parents many times over that it is the best investment they have made. May the blessings of the Lord be upon you.
