Dear Parents/Guardians,
 

This email is to inform you about construction planned on 11 Mile Road that will impact travel to and from Mercy. Beginning Wednesday, March 15th, 11 Mile Road will be completely closed between Orchard Lake and Middlebelt. The construction is expected to be completed by late July. Drivers who are affected by the closure will need to take an alternate route to get to Mercy High School.

The purpose of the shut down is to install a new storm sewer, a sidewalk along the south side of 11 Mile along the entire length from Middlebelt to Orchard Lake, grinding and resurfacing of the entire length of 11 Mile from Middlebelt to Orchard Lake, and the installation of a dedicated middle turn lane from Barbados near the west end of 11 Mile to Middlebelt. The city believes this new lane will make 11 Mile travel much safer in both directions.
