LAKE ORION >> The Farmington Hills Mercy girls swim team continued to rule over Oakland County on Saturday, as the Marlins claimed another county championship at Lake Orion High School.

Mercy bested the field by nearly 200 points, as the Marlins scored 450.5 for first place while Novi came in second with 275.5 and Rochester Adams was third with 239.

Greta Gidley won the 50 freestyle in a new county-meet record time of 23.26 to lead the Marlins on Saturday. Gidley would also win the 100 freestyle (51.02), while Emma Enquist won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.42). Mercy also had the diving champion, as Ciara McCliment came away with the event title (398.00).

Novi won a pair of relays on Saturday. The team of Kotoko Blair, Kyla Matthews, Elise Fonda and Julia Katulski won the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.22). Blair and Katulski joined Jimin Son and Anna Fonda to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:33.99).

Adams came up with a county title in the 200 medley relay (1:46.49) with a team of Meghan Fleury, Rhian Russell, Yitian Zhang and Claire Sweetwood. Russell would also go on to win the 100 butterfly (56.08) for the Highlanders.

Farmington’s Madeline Greaves won the 200 IM (2:06.05) and the 500 freestyle (5:00.26), while Oxford’s Jenna Fistler got the championship in the 200 freestyle (1:53.66) and Justine Murdock of Cranbrook won the 100 backstroke (57.58).
