Defending Michigan Metro Girls High School Hockey League Division 1 champion Farmington Hills Mercy downed Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 3-1 on Wednesday, December 14 at Cranbrook's Wallace Ice Arena.
Cranbrook led 1-0 after the first period on a goal by senior Jaden Bertuzzi. Mercy tied the game in the second period on a goal by senior Hannah Roegner.
Sophomore Libby Bartels found the net for the game-winner for Mercy with 2 minutes left in the game. Senior Mila Fons added an insurance goal wth 26 seconds left. Freshman Zabrina LVasseur earned the victory in goal for Mercy.
Mercy (6-1-0) plays Ann Arbor Pioneer on Friday, Dec 16 at Eddie Edgar Ice Arena in Livonia.
