Mercy makes state golf cut
Mercy High School finished third in a Division 1 regional tournament Thursday and qualified for the state final in girls golf.
Troy won the team title at Twin Lakes Golf Course with 309 strokes. Bloomfield Hills was two ahead of Mercy, 327-329.
Senior Julia Shaw led the Marlins with a fourth-place score of 75.
Freshman Mia Sooch was 11th (83), senior Lilly Blake 12th (84), junior Marissa Lobbia 17th (87) and freshman Sophie VanderWeele 26th (94).
The Marlins, who were sixth in the state last year, will compete Oct. 16-17 at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
