Roz Featured by AOD

Our beloved bearded dragon, Roz, was featured by the Archdiocese of Detroit for International Pet Day! Check out the social post here.
Roz is a 4-year-old bearded dragon who has been part of the Mercy High School community since she was just a baby. She is named after pioneering scientist Rosalind Franklin, and her habitat even features QR codes where students can learn more about both Franklin’s contributions and bearded dragons.
A beloved member of the science classroom, Roz enjoys spending time with students throughout the day. Each morning, she eagerly scratches at her tank door, ready to come out and explore. She has free range of the room, often found basking on the windowsill or making her way down a small ramp to visit the floor.
Students are welcome to hold Roz or have her join them at their desks, and she’s even been known to accompany students on the occasional “field trip” during free periods!
Roz brings curiosity, connection, and a little extra joy to the Mercy science experience.
