Dîner en Blanc: A Parisian Triumph at Mercy
On March 27, the French Honor Society (Chapter 493 of Société Honoraire de Française) hosted a spectacular Dîner en Blanc, transforming the McAuley Academic Center into a vision of Parisian elegance. Over 90 guests joined us for an unforgettable evening, doubling our expected turnout and showcasing the vibrant spirit of our Mercy community.
The event opened with a history of Dîner en Blanc, followed by a French Honor Society member reciting a prayer in the beautiful French language. Guests savored a classic French menu—quiche, salade, baguette, pâtisseries, fromage, and fruit—while enjoying performances by the fantastic Mercy Mimes, who channeled Marcel Marceau in several captivating sets. The McAuley Center sparkled with white décor, embodying the event’s elegant tradition.
Adding to the fun, door prizes were awarded to guests whose birthdays matched the commission dates of famous French monuments, such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame. The evening was a testament to our students’ creativity, cultural appreciation, and leadership.
