Marlins defend CHSL Bishop title
D1 No.1 Farmington Hills Mercy claims fourth straight league crown
Division 1 No. 1-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy won its fourth straight Catholic High School League Bishop Division softball championship, beating Toledo St. Ursula 10-0 in six innings, at Madonna University's sports complex in Livonia on May 13.
Mercy blasted three home runs in the victory. Charlie Lambert had a three-run home run and an RBI single. Evelyn Miller and Meg Kowalyk both had two-run home runs. Sophia Chaput had two hits, scored to runs and drove in a run. Kat Burras had an RBI double.
Kaitlyn Pallozzi earned the shutout on the mound, allowing three hits and striking out 13 in six innings.
Mercy (26-1) travels to face South Lyon East on Tuesday, May 14 and competes in the Michigan Challenge Tournament at the Canton Sports Center on Friday-Sunday, May 17-19. Mercy will play Milan, Ida and Utica Eisenhower in the tournament.
