Farmington Hills Mercy tops rival Bloomfield Hills Marian for championship
Farmington Hills Mercy won the Catholic HIgh School League Bishop Division girls lacrosse championship, beating rival Bloomfield Hills Marian 13-5 at the Hawk in Farmington Hills on Friday, May 10.
Mercy jumped out to a 9-2 lead at halftime.
Senior Abby Locy led Mercy with four goals. Junior Miazy Borys, junior Allison Smiley and junior ella Kizy each had two goals. Senior Edi Ceuninck, senior May Boertman and junior Olivia Lorelli added goals.
Junior Mackenzie conway earned the victory in goal.
Mercy beat Toledo, Ohio St. Ursula 15-4 and Marian beat Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook 14-9 in the CHSL semifinals on Tuesday, May 9.
Mercy was undefeated in CHSL play in the regular season and beat Marian 13-10 on April 22.
Mercy will face CHSL Cardinal Division champion Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard on Wednesday, May 15 at Gabriel Richard.
Mercy will face the winner of Farmington and Dexter in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2, Region 6 quarterfinal on May 22 at Mercy.
