D2 No. 2-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy advances to defend title

Defending Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 champion and No. 2-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy won the Region 12 championship on Wednesday, Oct 11, at Farmington Hills Golf Club.

Mercy shot 320 to earn the victory. No. 1-ranked Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood was second at 326. Grosse Pointe South shot 353 to finish third.

All three teams advance to the MHSAA Division 1 finals on Friday-Saturday, October 20-21 at Forest Akers East at Michigan State University.

Mercy junior Maeve Casey was medalist with an even par-72. Senior Abby Slankster shot 79 to finish tied for third. Junior Lila Polakowski finished at 81 to place sixth. Junior Macy Morphew finished at 88. Senior Brinlee Nay shot 91 for Mercy.
