The Garn Griffin Award is named after Mr. Griffin who was a zealous supporter of Mercy Athletics. He was a high school and college athlete, a Mercy parent and the husband of a former Mercy staff member. This award honors a graduating scholar athlete(s) who has a good academic record, has demonstrated leadership, is an athlete that has been recognized for their athletic achievements and whose overall character is consistent with Mercy’s values.

 

Izzy, Maya and Sydney helped their teams win a total of 10 Catholic League championships, 6 MHSAA district championships, multiple regional championships, 1 final four appearance, 1 state runner up, and 1 state championship. All 3 have captained their varsity teams, and maintained high academic success.
