After Mercy Quiz Bowl's impressive 2nd place finish at the National Black History Challenge last weekend, they have been invited to compete in the National Academic Challenge at the end of May. This is the first time Mercy has qualified for this prestigious tournament. Congratulations to the team of captain Caitlyn Begosa '22, Laura Boesch '21, and Caroline Turco '22 for this outstanding achievement! 

 

This week was also a busy one, filled with two tournaments over mid-winter break. On Thursday evening, captain Caitlyn Begosa '22, Natasha Bouras '22, and Jill Grubb '21 competed in the nationwide TEAMWORK tournament, finishing 8th overall. Captain Caitlyn Begosa '22 placed 3rd individually in a field of over 70 players, and you can view tournament statistics here.

 

Saturday, the team competed at NCIS X, with a strong showing in the morning and qualifying for the championship bracket. After 8 games of play, Mercy finished 12th overall, and captain Caitlyn Begosa '22 finished 3rd individually. Congratulations on such an extraordinary performance!
