Mercy High School to Launch New Community Engagement Initiative
Farmington Hills, MI – Mercy High School is excited to announce the launch of a new, unique approach to student service engagement through Making a Difference 365 Community Connections Fair on Wednesday, October 2 from 10:30am - 12:50pm.
The Mercy Office of Mission & Ministry developed the Community Connections Fair, which will bring dozens of non-profit organizations from across Metro Detroit to the school campus. Students will have the opportunity to visit tables, engage with representatives, and learn about each organization’s mission and sign-up for volunteer opportunities. This approach will foster deeper understanding of community needs and encourage long-term service relationships.
In addition to the fair, students will also participate in two impactful community service projects.
-
Fleece and Thank You: Students will create cozy fleece blankets to be donated to children in local hospitals undergoing treatment to provide warmth and comfort during challenging times.
-
Global Health Charities: Students will prepare supplies for Clean Birth Kits, which contain essential items for safe and sanitary childbirth. These kits will be sent to underserved areas around the world, improving maternal and newborn health outcomes.
Mercy is confident that the Community Connections Fair will provide a meaningful and enriching experience for students, while also supporting these community partners:
