2025 One Love Workshop Info for Seniors

Tuesday, March 25, 2025

Please note the following information was sent to the Senior Class in regard to participating in an upcoming workshop with U of D Seniors. Mercy and U of D have partnered to provide the One Love Foundation Escalation Workshop experience to our young women and men to equip them with the necessary tools to navigate relationships as they transition to college.

Click here for the One Love Foundation resource guide "Start the Conversation: How adults can talk to the young people in their lives about healthy and unhealthy relationships."

Attention Class of 2025:

About 1 in 12 high school students experienced physical dating violence. About 1 in 10 high school students experienced sexual dating violence.

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, you will be participating in a workshop called The Escalation Workshop with the Senior Class from University of Detroit Jesuit. You will be called down to the Gym with your belongings at 8:40am. You will drop your belongings along the wall (per directions given as you enter) and get your nametag in the Gym before heading to the Auditorium. Once the workshop has ended, you will join your 4th hour class. The workshop consists of an introduction and video that all of you will view together and then small group discussions facilitated by your peers, who have been trained by One Love Club Leaders.

One Love, joinonelove.org, is a national non-profit foundation with the goal of ending relationship abuse. They empower young people with tools and resources to see the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and bring life-saving prevention education to their communities. The Escalation Workshop is one of the workshops offered by One Love. Since 2019, Mercy and U of D have partnered together to provide this experience to our young women and men to equip you with the necessary tools to navigate relationships as you transition to college.
