iPad Buy Back Drop Off
Monday, June 20, 2016
10:00am
Mercy High School

If you are interested in trading in your student's old iPad and purchasing the new iPad Air 2, there will be a drop off date on Monday, June 20th at 10:00AM at Mercy. Please enter at the Flagpole entrance.

The Mercy IT Dept. will be on hand to assist you with making sure that all of your current content is backed up to a recent iCloud backup if necessary. Please make sure upon turn-in that your iPad is not activation locked (Find My iPad is turned off) and that you have your charging cord or charger. Your old iPad will then be shipped to a warehouse for evaluation where the value will be determined.

Here are approximate values for each model:

iPad 3 (Class of 2016)- $100.00
iPad 4 (Class of 2017) - $140.00
iPad Air (Class of 2018) - $185.00

Students will receive a check for the trade-in in late August/early September once the school year starts. You will be able to order your new iPad from the Mercy Business Office at the turn in (do not order from the school website) or you can purchase an iPad on your own as long as it is one of the following models and storage capacities:
  • iPad Pro -128 GB
  • iPad Air 2 -64 GB
  • iPad Mini 4 -64 GB
If you are going to buy one on your own, please be sure to also purchase the two year AppleCare+ plan. Please note that if you buy the Mercy iPad Air 2 package you will get three years of AppleCare+ coverage, instead of the two years that are normally offered to retail customers along with a slight discount on both the iPad and the warranty.

Students will also have to purchase a new iPad case compatible with the iPad Air 2, or whichever model you choose to buy on your own. Mercy iPad cases (compatible with the iPad Air 2 only) will be available for purchase when you come to the buyback turn-in.

Loaner iPads will also be available for those who would like one before their new iPad arrives.

If you have any further questions regarding the iPad buy back please feel free to contact the Mercy I.T. Department at (248)893-3590 or tfjames@mhsmi.org.
