Mercy High School Announces New $1.8 Million Secure Entrance Project
Groundbreaking Scheduled for June 1, 2026

Farmington Hills, MI — Mercy High School proudly announces the launch of a transformative $1.8 million Secure Entrance Project designed to enhance campus safety while creating a warm and welcoming first impression for students, families, alumnae, and visitors.

Groundbreaking for the project is scheduled for June 1, 2026, with anticipated completion in November 2026.

The redesigned entrance will serve as both a modern security enhancement and a visible reflection of Mercy’s mission as a premier Catholic college preparatory school for young women. The project will incorporate:

  • Enhanced controlled-access security systems and visitor management technology

  • Expanded reception and administrative spaces to better serve students, families, and guests

  • Improved accessibility, visibility, and flow throughout the entryway

  • Dedicated gathering spaces that foster connection and community

  • Architectural features that highlight Mercy’s Catholic tradition, including sacred artwork and welcoming signage

Together, these improvements will create a safe, welcoming, and mission-centered entrance experience for all who enter Mercy High School.

“Our entrance is the first experience families and visitors have when they arrive at Mercy,” said Patricia Sattler, Principal of Mercy High School. “This project reflects our continued commitment to providing a safe, welcoming, and faith-filled environment for every member of our community. The new design will strengthen campus security while showcasing the excellence and spirit of Mercy.”

In addition to enhancing safety and accessibility, the project reinforces Mercy’s long-term vision for innovation, student-centered learning, and a welcoming campus experience.

“Mercy High School has long been a beacon of faith, leadership, and academic excellence,” said Dr. Cheryl Delaney Kreger ’66, President of Mercy High School. “This investment in our campus ensures that future generations of Mercy students will continue to learn and grow in an environment that is both secure and inspiring.”

The project will be led by VIG Construction as general contractor, with architectural redesign services provided by Integrated Design Solutions. The Secure Entrance Project is supported through philanthropic contributions and reflects Mercy High School’s ongoing dedication to investing in the future of its students and community.
