On April 17, 2016 Mercy’s gymnasium was transformed into a tea parlor for an event that was spectacular on all levels. The 12th Annual Tea for Tuition was a rousing success, in large part due to our 40 hostesses who brought friends and family to Mercy, set lovely tables, and showered their guests with hospitality. More than 360 people were treated to appetizers, desserts and tea, and had the opportunity to hear from stellar women of Mercy. Together, we set event records for number of hostesses, number of guests, and profit, raising $38,000 for the Alumnae Association Tuition Assistance Fund.

President Cheryl Delaney Kreger EdD ’66 was honored to present Sommer Woods ’95 with the 2016 Distinguished Alumna Award. In a poignant moment, past Distinguished Alumnae Celeste Allen Novak '69, Rita Marie Valade, RSM '72, Arleen Brennan Bonello '56 (Alumnae Board Member), Diana George Jacokes '67 (Board of Trustees Chair), Luanne Thomas Ewald '87 and Mary Pat McDougall '56 posed for a picture with Sommer.
