F.E.M.E.S. for STEM (Females Excel in Math, Engineering and Science)
On September 20, 2018 Virginia Minolli ’82 hosted a roundtable dinner discussion on with women who are passionate about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Alumnae, parents and students from the Mercy Robotics team shared their experiences and insight.
The event kicked off the establishment of the Mercy High School F.E.M.E.S. for STEM Endowed Fund to provide monetary support beyond the budget for Mercy Science and Math departments. These funds will allow teachers to take field trips to expose students to STEM in the real world, purchase hi-tech equipment, and provide Mercy students with an enhanced learning experience.
“I am excited about working with Mercy alums to help improve Mercy’s role in fostering an interest in careers that will allow more women to become tomorrow’s science and technology leaders.” - Virginia Minolli ’82
