From Coach Hoyt:
Players and Parents,
I just wanted to touch base about the upcoming season. First, if you are on the mailing list and would like to be removed please let me know (I tried to remove graduating players and parents, but may have missed someone). Also, if you know anyone who is interested in tryouts that is not currently on the list, please have them e-mail me.
Our dates for tryouts are Monday, March 13- Thursday, March 16. My goal is to have a parent meeting for the selected teams either Monday, March 20 or Tuesday, March 21 after practice. Our first two weeks of lacrosse will be at Schoolcraft College in the new dome due to weather.
March 13-17 - Schoolcraft Dome - 3:30-5pm
March 20-24 - Schoolcraft Dome - 4-5pm
First Practice - March 18
First Game - March 27
After that the schedule is tentative at this point based on weather and field conditions and will be determined in March.
To tryout players must have all the athletic paper work turned in to the AD's office and have filled out this form (I receive a list of who is approved to tryout). You must have goggles, a mouth guard, cleats and a girls lacrosse stick for tryouts. If you are interested in trying out for Goalie please let me know ASAP.
Our coaches this year are the following:
Varsity - Head Coach Lindsay Hoyt, Assistant Coaches Dan Pincheck and Teri Bowen
JV - Megan Katzenstein
The first two weeks JV and Varsity will run tryouts and practices at the same time. After the first two weeks it will be determined by the coaches.
Please note if you are trying out for either team that the commitment is March 13-the end of the state playoffs. Last year we were blessed to have made it to the State Semi-Final game in early June. Please do not schedule family trips or other non-school commitments for the season. This is a team sport and it is important that each player is at practice and games - missing practices and game will affect playing time and possibly determine your position on the team. More detailed expectations will be discussed at the parent/player meeting.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
