Mercy High School upholds a strong tradition of competitive athletics in 17 sports, including 4 club sports. All teams are eligible to participate in the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) state tournaments and 11 participate in the Detroit Catholic League. Mercy's facilities include a gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, full-size track, soccer field and two enclosed softball diamonds.
Student athletes at Mercy are strongly encouraged to hold academic excellence as their primary goal. Any student wanting to participate in a sport must maintain 2.0 overall GPA in order to be eligible for competition. In addition, all athletes must have a current physical on file prior to tryouts.
*The MHSAA has an updated Physical Form available as a pdf here (pdf) and/or on their website (pdf). There are new requirements for those who wish to participate in athletics!
How to: The New Physical Form (pdf) is TWO pages, both pages MUST be filled out COMPLETELY.
