SPORTS
Mercy High School upholds a strong tradition of competitive athletics in 21 sports. Teams (*unless indicated) are eligible to participate in the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) or applicable state tournaments and 16 participate in the Detroit Catholic High School League (CHSL). Mercy's facilities include a gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, full-size track, indoor training facility, weight room, two athletic fields, and two enclosed softball diamonds.

Health Requirements
All incoming 9th graders, transfer students, athletes, and students taking a Physical Education class, will need a current physical along with a complete FinalForms Profile. All students new to Mercy must be compliant with immunization requirements.
For the 2023-24 school year, you will need a physical performed on/after 4/15/2023. Please upload to FinalForms or scan and email to athletics@mhsmi.org.
Fall 2023 Athlete Info
All athletes are required to have completed the FinalForms Profile by July 28, 2023. All Athletic Registrations will be done through FinalForms. Registration is required in order to attend tryouts. For your convenience, Athletic Fees will be invoiced via Clover.
Try-out times will be on the Athletic Calendar and team specific pages as available. Please be prepared to attend all try-out sessions. Fall sports (Cross Country, Equestrian, Field Hockey, Golf, Swim & Dive, Volleyball) start date is August 7, 2023. Stay tuned for specific sport team updates.

Letter Jacket and Accomplishment Patches

Looking to have a letter jacket or sweater made? Need to update your accomplishments? Receive a Mercy Scholar-Athlete Award and want the patch?
Here are the Guidelines for Letter Jackets/Sweaters. Mercy Scholar-Athlete patches, CHSL Award patches, and Captain's Stars are available for sale in the Athletic Office. Team/individual honor patches will be ordered at the end of every season if interest exists. Patches are available through the Athletics Office. Please note: The letter is given for the 1st year on a varsity sport, chevrons are for each additional year. For example: If you are on MVP for 4 years, you have 1 letter & 3 chevrons.
