Pizza, Jams and Jeans is an informal, light-hearted concert held in Mercy’s cafeteria in mid October. Glee, Mercyaires and Orchestra perform pop music, following a dinner of pizza, salad and pop. Music students are encouraged to audition for solo, duo and group numbers that the students present for review. Families, friends and alumnae are welcome to join the fun-filled evening and to get “into the groove.”
The Mercy Performing Arts Department is proud to present The Bells of Christmas Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door.
The Christmas Concert celebrates the serious classroom work of the Glee I, Advanced Glee, Mercyaires and Orchestra in the Performing Arts Department. Students may audition to perform individual selections at the concert which is held in Mercy’s auditorium. Both traditional and religious holiday music are presented as the school celebrates the birth of Christ. Featured music rotates on a two-year basis between Handel’s “Messiah” and “Ceremony of the Carols.” Besides families and friends of the performers, Mercy alumnae are invited to “come home to Mercy” at the holidays to participate in the concert.
Held in mid May, the Spring Concert showcases the work of Advanced Glee, Mercyaires, and Orchestra during second semester. Students may audition for solo, duo and group numbers of their choosing that are in keeping with the theme of the program. The concert, which is held in Mercy’s auditorium, is open to the general public.
