The Mercy Marlins surprised many in the Michigan swimming world today with a runner up team finish, to national power Ann Arbor Pioneer, in the 2004 Michigan High School Division I State Championships at the University of Michigan's Canham Natatorium. The Marlins were led by All American Mara Loniewski's first place finish in the 200 Free and third place finish in the 500 Free -- multiple 'top eight' finishes from Caryn Switaj (100 Free and 200 Free), Kara Small (200 IM and 500 Free) and Meg Noble (50 Free and 100 Free).
