Let Us Pray

Mercy High School President, Dr. Cheryl Delaney Kreger ’66, invites you to Mercy for the Immaculate Conception Mass Thursday, December 8 at 9:55 am in the Auditorium. Worship with us as we celebrate this Holy Day.

In the spirit of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, prayer and service are integrated: “Our center is God from Whom all our actions should spring as from their source, and no exterior actions should separate us from Him.”

If you have a special prayer request, please use the online prayer request form.

You may also sign up here to receive Mercy's Daily Prayer via email.

Christmas Concert

The Christmas Concert, "SING NOEL," will take place on Sunday, December 18 at 2:00 pm in the Mercy Auditorium. Admission Fee: $5.00 per person at the door. Glee 1, Glee 2 and the Mercyaires will perform as will featured soloists and small ensembles. In keeping with tradition, the concert will conclude with The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah, and alumnae are invited to join in singing on stage.

Open House

On Sunday, November 6, Mercy hosted 234 prospective students and their families at our annual Fall Open House. Families discovered what makes Mercy MERCY! They toured the building with students and spoke to our teachers, administrators, coaches, and parents. The technology demonstration in the Media Center was buzzing, and the Mercyaires performance in the auditorium was a huge hit.

Many thanks to alumnae volunteers Lisa Sikorski Formosa '93, Kelly Stirling McSweeney '93, and Joanne Albert Walle '77 for greeting guests and sharing all the reasons they still cheer for MHS! Our next Open House is Sunday, January 29 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Please encourage prospective students to contact the Admissions Office at admissions@mhsmi.org or 248-476-2484 and arrange a day to shadow a student.

Alumnae Give Back - Merci!

In November, Mercy High School joined French classes across the nation in celebrating National French Week. French students were captivated by guest speakers and Mercy Alumnae Tricia Hill '07 and Maureen Anway '07 who shared their accomplishments and experiences while studying abroad. Maureen's documentary film “L’Identité Changeante” played at a Francophonie film festival at Kalamazoo College. Tricia graduated from Valparaiso University in nursing and is now studying to become a French teacher.

Will You Give Mercy the Shirt Off Your Back?

Do you have an old Mercy t-shirt collecting dust at the bottom of your drawer? Want to help out the Mercy High School Auction? We have a donor who will make a quilt by hand using Mercy t-shirts, but we don't have the variety needed on hand at the school. Any shirt that is maroon, gold, black, white or gray would be so helpful. The shirt could sport a Mercy saying, the Mercy Marlin, the Mercy M…anything Mercy! You may bring or send the shirt to Auction Coordinator Kari Weber, Mercy High School Advancement Office. Contact Kari at klweber@mhsmi.org or 248-893-3535.

Save the Date! This year's auction is Saturday, February 25, 2012.
