Diana George Jacokes, ’67, is president and owner of Jacokes Communications, LLC. She has more than 30 years of experience in writing, editing, and communications consulting. A former reporter for The Detroit News and senior editor with Ford Motor Company, she began freelance writing in 1977 when her oldest child was born. Over time, she built her freelance business into a multi-million-dollar corporate communications agency. In 1994, her company, which is headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, established a subsidiary in London and affiliates in Cologne and Paris to manage worldwide communications efforts for Visteon Corporation. Current clients include Ford Motor Company, Visteon Corporation, Trinity Health, ArvinMeritor, Beaumont Hospitals and Lawrence Technological University. She has written for a variety of local and national publications including USA Today, The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press as well as a variety of industry and trade publications. She served as a contributing editor to Detroit Monthly magazine and as business editor of Metropolitan Detroit magazine.
Diana has a B.A., Journalism; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, 1971. Her professional associations include: Inforum (formerly the Women’s Economic Club), International Association of Business Communicators, Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Women in Communications.
Diana’s volunteer efforts currently include Mercy High School Board of Trustees, Motor City Blight Busters Board of Directors, and SPEC Associates Advisory Board. In the past Diana has been involved with the following organizations Create Detroit Board of Trustees, Our Lady of Sorrows President of the Parent Teacher Guild and Co-president of the School Board, and former Girl Scout Leader.
